Treatment Modalities

Acupuncture is an ancient modality involving the insertion of fine metal needles into particular areas of the body to trigger a desired response within the mind, body and energy system.
Two simple explanations:
Long-established energetic understanding – Acupuncture manipulates Qi within the body's energy meridian system. Qi's function is multifaceted; if the flow of Qi becomes blocked or negatively impacted, dis-ease will manifest in some form or another. Acupuncture works to restore the smooth flow of Qi, which in turn can result in dis-ease symptoms lifting and general health becoming undisturbed.
Modern scientific/Western understanding – Acupuncture causes micro-damage, which in turn stimulates sensory nerve pathways that trigger various physiological, neurological and psychological responses. These responses are influenced by the body's interdependent systems and its never-ending processes of self-regulation, metabolic recycling and drive to reach homeostasis.
This is why acupuncture can be helpful for so many health concerns: the body doesn't work in isolation, either from a physiological or energetic perspective.
As a result, the effects of acupuncture can be multifaceted.

Electro-acupuncture is what I unprofessionally term “acupuncture on steroids”.
An electrical stimulation machine is attached to the inserted acupuncture needles, delivering gentle, controlled pulses. This enhances nerve and muscle stimulation beyond that of conventional acupuncture, helping to modulate pain signals, release muscular tension and support the body's natural healing responses.
It is generally reserved for more chronic or treatment-resistant pain.
However, if electro-acupuncture is requested, it can certainly be incorporated into a treatment.

Cupping is a fantastic treatment for targeting muscle knots, tight or stiff muscles, painful impingements and general lack of mobility.
Additionally, cupping has been used for literally thousands of years in countries all over the world to combat symptoms associated with colds, congestion and general illness, based on ancient principles of moving stagnation and restoring the body's natural flow of Qi.
Cupping is often performed on the back and neck; however, we perform cupping wherever there is pain or tightness – including the lower and upper legs, arms, shoulders and chest.

Massage uses hands-on techniques to work across broad areas of muscle and connective tissue.
Put simply, massage works from the outside in, using physical manipulation to influence the body's interconnected muscular, neurological and circulatory systems.
Our massage treatments often combine relaxation techniques with deep-tissue bodywork.

90 minutes of complete integrative care.
Massage Therapy – Improving circulation, releasing fascial congestion and reducing muscular restriction.
Cupping Therapy – Targeting fascial adhesions and areas of stagnation, helping to reduce inflammation, muscular tightness and painful impingements.
Acupuncture – Stimulating deep muscle fibres and sensory nerve endings, activating a complex cascade of neurological responses; stimulating and redirecting Qi (life-force energy) stagnation, while also supporting nervous system regulation.
The perfect combination treatment for both acute and chronic pain conditions, injuries and regular maintenance, supporting recovery and helping restore optimal physical performance.
